On 10 December, MFC joined the Policy Forum: “How Romanian microfinance institutions support the sustainable growth of microenterprises, farmers and the social economy in Romania”

Organised under the SIFTA | Social Inclusive Finance Technical Assistance program, the event brought together the Romanian Microfinance Association (Asociația de Microfinanțare din România), European Microfinance Network, Microfinance Centre and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Discussions focused on the sector’s performance from 2020–2024, including benchmarking insights, as well as key initiatives and projects led by MFC and EMN to strengthen microfinance in Romania.

The day concluded with a roundtable on challenges facing the sector, good practices and lessons learned from implementing European and national programmes.

Congratulations to the Romanian Microfinance Association on its 5th anniversary and its commitment to advancing microfinance and social economy in Romania!
