ESG Reporting in Action: Practical Insights for MFIs

On Monday, 20 April, we hosted a webinar dedicated to ESG and sustainability reporting for microfinance institutions. Participants deepened their understanding of key ESG frameworks, explored the growing importance of ESG for funders and regulators and discussed why robust reporting is becoming essential for access to capital.

The webinar offered practical insights, including step-by-step guidance on building effective ESG reporting systems and the importance of mapping loan portfolios against climate risks.

The session also highlighted practices such as net-zero climate target reporting and client-centric approaches, alongside real-world examples, including BRAC’s use of the Progress out of Poverty Index and the implementation of cargo bikes for microentrepreneurs, supported by training and appropriate equipment.
