European Microfinance Day Campaign 2026 is underway. Share your Story!

The European Microfinance Day campaign, organized in partnership with the European Microfinance Network (EMN) has been underway since 11 May, following the European Microfinance Day held in Brussels on 16 April together with the European Investment Bank, fi-compass and DG EMPL (European Commission).

We continue to invite MFC and EMN Member Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and entrepreneurs to share how microfinance supports financial inclusion and independence across Europe.

What we are looking for

We are collecting short, impactful stories from Member MFIs and the entrepreneurs they support, covering:

  • Type of business
  • Barriers to accessing traditional finance
  • Support provided by the MFI
  • Current business status

To see an example of a story already published, please refer to this post.

We also welcome input from MFIs on the measurable social impact of microfinance helping to highlight the sector’s across countries and communities.

Timeline

The campaign is ongoing, with selected submissions (up to two per week) already being featured.

  • Submission deadline: 8 June
  • Campaign end: 29 June (around UN MSME Day on 27 June)

How to participate
