Let’s Shape the Future of Microfinance in Europe. Join us in the EU Code of Good Conduct Survey
The European Commission (EC) has launched a revision process of the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision, with updates planned for 2026/2027. This is a unique opportunity for all organisations active in the microfinance sector—whether or not they currently follow the Code—to contribute their perspectives and help shape the future of responsible microfinance in Europe.
What Is the Code of Good Conduct?
The European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision sets out standards for transparency, good governance, client protection, and risk management across European microfinance institutions. It serves as a benchmark for ensuring high-quality, professional, and ethical practices in the sector.
The current revision process may result in important changes—such as simplifying the Code’s award process and extending its applicability to new types of entities.
