From Achievements to Elections: Key Outcomes of the MFC Annual Membership Meeting 2026

The MFC Annual Membership Meeting 2026 brought together members from across Europe and Central Asia to reflect on the network’s achievements, review key developments, welcome new members and help shape the future of MFC through its governance processes.

During the meeting, members received updates on MFC’s governance, management, financial performance, membership growth and strategic priorities for 2025/2026. Participants celebrated the organisation’s achievements over the past year, including the successful delivery of the SIFTA programme, the completion of the Transform Together Fund supporting green and digital innovations, MFC’s international engagement at COP30 in Brazil and European Microfinance Day in Brussels, and the continued expansion of the network through new partnerships and members:

The meeting also highlighted future opportunities and challenges for the sector, including the growing role of artificial intelligence and MFC’s commitment to ensuring that technology continues to serve people and communities responsibly.

A key part of the meeting was the election of a member-nominated representative to the MFC Council, giving members a direct role in shaping the organisation’s future. Six strong candidates stood for election, demonstrating the high level of engagement within the network. Following the vote, Perlat Sulaj (FED Invest Albania) was re-elected to the MFC Council, continuing his contribution to the organisation’s governance and strategic development.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion on future governance developments, including proposals to strengthen regional representation within the MFC Council, reaffirming MFC’s commitment to inclusive and participatory governance.
