Three Years In: Unlocking the Financial Future of Ukrainian Refugees in Poland 

On 30 June 2025, the World Bank hosted a high-level roundtable in Warsaw, co-organized with UNHCR, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Microfinance Centre (MFC) — to take stock of progress and challenges in advancing financial inclusion for Ukrainian refugees in Poland, three years since the full-scale invasion. 

This timely discussion emphasized that financial inclusion is not just protection — it’s economic development. The event reinforced a shift from short-term humanitarian response to sustainable financial stability. Withing the event was a panel on “Financial inclusion through entrepreneurship. Focus on microfinancing” moderated by Beata Biela, MFC Advocacy Manager. We sincerely thank the speakers for the above session for accepting our invitations to represent microfinance sector, namely: Sergii Demchuk, CEO, Novalend, Taras Karpenko, cofounder of Royal Tribute,  Katarzyna Sabarańska, Vice President of the Management Board of the Foundation for the Development of Polish Agriculture.
