We are happy to announce that the Microfinance Centre (MFC) and Romanian Association of Microfinance Institutions (MFA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The main goal of this cooperation is to support the Romanian microfinance sector in fulfilling its mission to provide financial products and business development services tailored to the development needs and repayment capacity of entrepreneurs and farmers with limited access to financial services.
The partnership between MFC and MFA will include among others:
- exchange of information and expertise
- cooperation in the implementation of programmes that are geared towards advancing access to finance in Romania.
- mutual support in identifying funding, research, technical assistance, and other partnership opportunities.
The Romanian Microfinance Association (MFA) was established in 2020 with 14 of the leading microfinance providers in Romania as founding members.
The efforts of the Romanian Microfinance Association are primarily aimed at representing the common interests of Romanian microfinance institutions to key stakeholders in the sector to support the development of microfinance services provided by its members, and promote their financial and social inclusion impact. Through its actions, MFA contributes to the education and development of the business community and the public in the field of microfinance and promotes best practices and the highest standards of conduct and professional ethics.
