Join the SIFTA webinar: Sustainable Development Goals – measuring and reporting the progress

15 December 2022

11:00 - 13:00

Online

Introduction

Microfinance and social economy finance providers (“MF/SE providers”) in Europe can contribute significantly to the social, economic and environmental impact which is crucially needed for the achievement of the SDGs and the Agenda 2030.

With the growing market for impact investments, the use and importance of the SDGs have been increasing – also in the investment community. There is not one single approach or harmonized set of indicators; but common standards and principles are evolving as new regulation and public awareness require more transparency, accountability and measurable evidence.

Agenda:

The objective of this webinar is to increase the awareness and understanding of the implications for both investors and MF/SE providers as their investees. As an introduction, it will provide an overview of emerging regulations, standards, and initiatives as well as practises, experiences and tools related to SDGs measurement and reporting:

  • What is the current status among investors and microfinance providers to measure, report and communicate on the SDGs?
  • What are the benefits and challenges to use the SDGs?
  • What do investors and microfinance providers need to better track progress on the SDGs?

The webinar includes the practical examples of MF/SE providers:

  • Banca Etica, a cooperative bank operating in Italy and Spain, offers microcredit and microfinance; and
  • Invest in Visions (IIV), a German asset management company, manages impact investment and microfinance funds.
