Big data and fintech: a solution to financial exclusion?
17 October 2017 (9:00 am – 4:30 pm), Place du Congrès, 1 – 1000 Brussels
The aim of the conference co-organised by ECRI, BEUC and EFIN, is to explore, from the financial inclusion perspective, both the potential risks and the potential benefits for everyone in society of innovations in financial services products and delivery systems (big data and fintech). The underlying question is whether the regulator should act in anticipation, and in what way, to better guarantee positive outcomes, without stifling innovation.
Experts from across the payment, insurance and credit sectors will debate these issues, including the European Commission, the European Parliament, the US National Association of Consumer Advocates, the National Bank of Belgium, consumer organisations, fintech startups and leading universities.
More information will follow in early September. The draft programme is available here.
