The workshop took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on 10 November 2016. It was jointly hosted by the Bulgarian Association of Credit Cooperatives and Microfinance Organizations (BACCOM) and fi-compass. The event welcomed 34 practitioners from credit cooperatives and microfinance organizations, who discussed opportunities and obstacles within the Bulgarian microfinance sector.
The speakers presented useful information regarding the EaSI Technical Assistance, EIF financial instruments and the Code of Good Conduct. The workshop focused on the following topics:
- Access to EU programmes available for microfinance (moderated by Jorge Ramirez Puerto, EaSI TA Key Expert, EMN, and presented by Cristina Dumitrescu, EIF and Nikolai Yarmov, CEED Bulgaria)
- EU Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision (presented by Jorge Ramirez Puerto, EaSI TA Key Expert, EMN and Aldona Rutkowska, EaSI TA Non-Key Expert, MFC)
- Fundraising and attracting new investors (moderated by Caroline Lentz, EaSI TA Non-Key Expert, EMN, and presented by Cristina Dumitrescu, EIF, Marian Tetici, Patria Credit, and Nikolai Yarmov, CEED Bulgaria)
